Hey, speaking of scrappin' fun, let all your friends and neighbors know about the scrapbooking class.  There is still a ton to learn!  They can start after Christmas break and learn what to do with all those Christmas cards they got and all the pictures they took.

 

We have some exciting things coming up in the new year!

 

 

The official Studio for the Arts Holiday Break is December 19, 2009 through January 3, 2010.  Classes resume Monday, January 4, 2010. 

 

In January, Ms. Sonya will be measuring for costumes for the Spring Recitals.  Cinderella dates are May 11-12 for school matinees and May 13 for parents and public.  The Hometown Country Festival is Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Riverfront Park.  We ask that all invoices (tuition and costumes) be made current.

Brads and eyelets can add a lot of depth, texture and dimension to your scrapbook pages.  They are, in my opinion, the best way to attach velum to your pages.  Brads make the greatest centers to flowers.  They not only add a bit of bling to your flower they hold the flower on the page.  Try adding brads to your page and threading fiber through them.  It makes for a great texture on the page.  Remember, you don't have to invest in an expensive brad tool, a Phillips screwdriver and hammer do the trick.  Just make sure the tip of the screwdriver will fit in the back of the brad.

Monday in class we will be working on adding photo corners to our pages!  Remember to come prepared for class.  Make sure to bring pictures, paper, scissors & adhesive.

Staff inservice for Studio Review Blogging is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 6:30 pm.

Studio line dancers will perform at the Randolph County Nursing & Rehab in Pocahontas on Tuesday, December 8 @ 6:30 p.m.  Christmas and traditional line dances will be performed.  Oh what fun it is to dance to Christmas music, too !!

The Studio staff had a meeting last week and we finalized dates and plans for our Spring productions.  I am proud and excited to announce that we are doing two events this spring:

1.)  Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella - with school matinee shows on May 11 and 12 and an evening show for the general public on May 13.

2.)  The Hometown Country Festival - May 8

I personally prefer the shows where the whole Studio comes together and does a something, but sometimes it's just not possible because of the amount of kids or the genre of the show.  Both of these events are so different, I think it will be so much fun for the attendees.

Who would have known - that a graduate course in Library Science would require your Studio Line Dance Instructor to create a blog?   After reading in my LIS 558 Internet Resources and Applications text book about  the many benefits of blogging in Web communities, I spoke to the Studio's Executive Director, Andee Evers regarding the blog addition to our current Web page www.imperialdinnertheatre.com.  She excitedly agreed spouting off all the uses for Studio instructors and staff in connecting with students and families, not to mention Imperial Dinner Theatre announcements.  So here it is - The Studio Review BLOG.  Watch for it daily as new announcements and comments appear.
